Habanero Red is a very hot Habanero-type pepper with excellent flavour and a pungency of approximately 150,000–300,000 SHU. The bushy, low-growing plants produce attractive, glossy, slightly wrinkled fruits that mature from light green to bright red.  Fruits are approximately 3.5 × 3.5 cm and are ideal for open-field production.  Best harvested when fully red for maximum maturity and flavour.

Planting Instructions for Habanero Red

General Sowing Time:
Sow seeds in spring to early summer, once temperatures are consistently warm.

Position:
Full sun (6–8 hours daily). Choose a warm, sheltered position.

Suitable Space:
Suitable for garden beds, raised beds, containers, and open-field production.

Sow Depth:
Plant seeds approximately 0.5–1 cm deep and cover lightly with soil.

Spacing:
Space plants 45–60 cm apart with rows approximately 60–90 cm apart.

Height:
Produces a low, bushy plant with large leaves and does not normally require trellising.

Fruit Size:
Fruits are approximately 3.5 × 3.5 cm, with the typical slightly wrinkled Habanero shape.

Germination:
Seeds usually germinate within 7–14 days under warm, moist conditions.

Days to Harvest:
Approximately 85–90 days from planting to first harvest, depending on growing conditions and season.
